Symbol systems have been around for millennia – as the origin of our written word, our ancestors had a much more intimate, rich connection to symbols than we do to our modern text.

Old Norse and Germanic Runes, specifically, were the seeds to many modern English words that we use today. Their meaning has only changed in form with the changing people, the essence has remained the same.

In fact, the Runic symbols were so integrated with ancient society that they were considered a living, multi-faceted, recognizable force in the daily life of ancient Germanic peoples. They had a way of looking at the world that enabled them to be connected with it in every aspect, in harmony with nature, the earth, and the 'gods'.

Deeply embedded in their culture, their mythology, and their day-to-day activities, the runes were and still are a living force that can be contacted and integrated as a means of reflecting on oneself and the universe.

Once we understand how to identify and connect with the Runic energies, we too can look at life through a lens that enhances our lives and aids us in deepening our connection to the world – just as the ancients did.
